Meanwhile I can not wait to get back to painting, once my New Studio is finished.

When I paint, I always refer to something. If it isn’t to the outside world, it is to your own body, or mood, something you know, or the idea you have in mind while you paint. My experience is: that the moment I found an interesting subject, either by the Seaside or walking through the Rain Forest, whatever takes my mood, I will either do a sketching or roughly paint the details before the light changes, or alternatively take a quick snap shot.

I normally paint in layers, mixing the colors to get the depth in my paintings, light on dark and dark on light to get a three dimensional look. Also in the end I turn the painting upside down to get the feel of the painting in reverse. Like one of the paintings of the ducks in the water, turning it upside down, it actually looked the same by the reflection in the water.

Thank you all for the wonderful posts. Hard to get time to go through them all, a few Spam, most of them good. The response to my posts have been enormous, thank you, so be patient if I had no time to go through them all. All will be attended too when time allows me to reply.

The gallery is coming nicely together, cleaners been, the carpet man arriving tomorrow, the cupboard is being built. Things are moving smoothly.

As for my art, could not be better, great ideas on the way. More tips and tricks up my sleeve.

Art can be a way of giving an interior the wow factor without the need to spend thousands on painting and decorating.

Decorating, wallpaper and paint costs can amount to a fortune. Labor costs add quite considerably along with wall preparation and the many hidden costs that can occur when decorating, especially the case in older houses. In contrast, a piece of artwork is extremely easy and quick to hang giving instant satisfaction with no hidden costs.

A piece of artwork is something that reflects a person’s personality and individuality. It can be a statement or can blend sympathetically with a room’s design and color scheme. It is a way of personalizing a room and many pieces of artwork hold sentimental value from a special holiday or which could have been passed down from a relative.

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, 
   and patience is better than pride. 

Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, 
   for anger resides in the lap of fools.

Monday, a clean sheet. Time for action, time for fun. Since the studio is under New Construction, I have decided, to move inside, with air-condition keeping the brain cells working. Instead of finishing my large painting, I am starting on smaller paintings because of lack of space equally good, but more intricate.

Oils are the best and more fun to use, it does not dry and hinder your fluency like the Acrylics.

Having a good laugh regularly makes painting easier, which reflects in the paintings. It is this liberating fun that is lacking at times and it shows.

So a different “cut the crap” approach can make painting much more of a pleasure. It frees the mind so that I can simply focus on what I want to paint, instead of how to paint.

Another week is coming to its end. Today a two hour roundabout business trip.

Like my Motto is; Yesterdays already gone, tomorrow may never come, so lets enjoy each day as it comes. ” Live for today “.

No Blog tomorrow, why? 

Sunday is a day of worship, not the created, but our Creator. It is also a day to charge my batteries for the week ahead. Until then, Cheers !

Many events canceled today, including Fire Works, because of rain and flooding.

Great Australia Day free breakfast in Main Hall.

It is raining, it is pouring. Just want to let you all know, that this New Web site is still under the Final Constructions, and it won’t be long before the last trimmings are completed. Then it will have a spring clean from time to time and a daily dusting. Cheers !

Another day, of total upheaval. My studio was flooded by black water up to my ankles. The smell was terrific. Firstly we thought it was rain water, since its pouring outside, but being up to the ankle in water, throwing buckets full of water out the door, we noticed we could not keep up with the flow. That’s when we called the plumber and guess what, raw sewerage flowing through 2 units in the village where we live.

Luckily I had the storage of my paintings on a large trolley on wheels off the floors, otherwise I hate to think of the possibility to loose the lot.

Today I spent with insurance assessors, the army of cleaners, the contamination is gone, big machines and disinfectants is doing it’s job.

Well, no painting for a while, the place was insured, the carpet, the fold out bed sofa and the cupboard, is going to be replaced, and with of lot of patience the study will be back and running in no time at all as brand new.
